Red Sox Consider Signing Pavano
The Red Sox pursued Pavano four years ago, when the righthander was considered a free agent, only to lose on him for the Yankees. The Red Sox met with agent Tom O Connell yesterday evening to discuss Boston interest in Carl Pavano, a person familiar with the situation told Newsday. Now, grateful that they have lost out on that auction, the Red Sox seem to consider the introduction of Pavano on a very low base salary and incentive clauses.
